Regulated Services

Fermat Point Ltd trading as Everlake is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under the Investment Intermediaries Act 1995 and is registered as an insurance intermediary under the Insurance Distribution Regulations 2018.

Fermat Point Ltd trading as Everlake is subject to the Central Bank of Ireland Code(s) of Conduct which includes the Consumer Protection Code, the Fitness and Probity Standards and Minimum Competency Code. Fermat Point Ltd trading as Everlake must comply with these codes which offer protection to consumer(s). These Code(s) can be found on the Central Banks website at www.centralbank.ie.

As an intermediary, we represent the customer and will provide advice based on a fair analysis of the whole marketplace for financial products and offer you the option of paying for advice by a fee.

Everlake can receive and transmit orders on your behalf for products from any of the product providers from which Everlake holds a written letter of appointment.

Everlake has access to a wide range of product providers operating in the Irish market as well as internationally (see Appendix A).

Our Authorised Status reference number is 124947. This can be verified by checking the register of financial service providers on the Central Bank of Irelands website. A copy of our statement of Authorised Status can be found in Appendix B.

Regulated activities include:

  • Insurance Mediation
  • Receiving and transmitting orders
  • Investment advice

Un-Regulated Services

Fermat Point Ltd trading as Everlake may also provide un-regulated Financial Planning consultancy services. These services do not require licensing, authorisation, or registration with the Central Bank of Ireland. As a result, these services are not covered by its requirements designed to protect consumers or by a statutory compensation scheme.

Investor protections are lost/not applicable when investing in a product deemed to be out of scope of regulation, including compensation schemes, client assets protections and recourse to ombudsman (as applicable).

Occupational pension schemes and larger corporate entities are specifically excluded from entitlement to claim from the Investor Compensation Fund.

A summary of un-regulated Financial Planning activities are as follows:

  • Budget advice and planning, including considering paying off debt.
  • Tax planning or tax advice including non-domiciled remittance tax planning.
  • Trust and estate planning or legal advice.
  • International mobility planning and advice.
  • Social Security benefit planning advice.
  • Financial advice when moving to Ireland.
  • Philanthropy.
  • Financial planning for businesses.

Fermat Point Ltd trading as Everlake provides the same high standard of care to all of its clients and these activities are covered by our Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy.
